i just realized it's been about a year since i have made a large painting. also, it's been a year of failing to share it. it's probably one of my proudest ones, as I painted the face myself which is something i have been working through slowly (though still struggling) and this one turned out just about EXACTLY how i wished it would. i love it so much and get to stare at it every day in my living room. the size of it is probably about 3 feet square. i typically don't buy perfectly square canvases but this one worked out well despite my lack of familiarity with the size and contortions of a large (square) canvas. it reminds me that i need to keep working on it, practicing, and painting on canvas because it feels so good in all ways.
then, several months later, I played around at my bff's house one weekend. she got sick and was in bed the majority of the time (i felt so bad for her), so i just messed around with a random bunch of stuff while i watched movies and took naps. a favorite creation from that weekend are these 2 little guys. the stuffie is only about 6 inches tall maybe or so and the girl with the cloud/rain over her head is even smaller. one is fabric and paint and the other is a type of clay and paint and also a bit of fabric. i need to make more of this stuff.
shortly after these guys, i came across a toy guitar i painted on for my coworker's new baby. i was inspired by the music themed room decorations. i had never painted on a guitar before but i really enjoyed it!
more to come!
